Adjust the amount of food you serve based on the age, size and activity level of your dog. Food should be fed at room temperature. Fresh water should be available at all times. ADULT: Feed 3/4 can per every 10 lbs. of body weight. PUPPY: Feed up to four times the adult amount per day. PREGNANT & NURSING MOTHERS: Feed up to two times the adult amount per day. COVER AND REFRIGERATE AFTER OPENING.
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.
Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.
Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.
Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.
Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.
