Small to medium breed puppies: Feed 1 can per 5 - 9 pounds (2 - 4 kg) of body weight daily. Medium to large breed puppies: Feed 1 can per 7 - 13 pounds (3 - 6 kg) of body weight daily. Detailed feeding instructions at Purina.com. Divide amounts into 3 or more feedings for puppies up to 6 months and 2 feedings from 7 - 12 months. Adjust as needed to avoid excess weight gain. Feed as adult beyond 2 years of age. When feeding with dry product, 1 can replaces approximately 1 cup dry Pro Plan Puppy formula.
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.
Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.
Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.
Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.
Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.
