Talk to your veterinarian to see if Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets HA Hydrolyzed Protein Dog Food Dry Salmon Flavor Formula could benefit your dog. Formulated with a single, hydrolyzed protein source for easy digestion, this high-protein recipe is specially formulated to help manage food sensitivities. Hydrolyzing breaks the protein down into smaller components, specifically an average molecular weight below 12,200 daltons. This process makes the protein less likely to cause a negative response in your food-sensitive pup. A single, low-allergen carbohydrate source is included to minimize the risk of food-related reactions, and, this food is a source of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), which don’t require energy for absorption, use, or storage. This recipe is suitable for all dogs that have food-allergic gastroenteritis or dermatitis, food intolerance, inflammatory bowel disease, or pancreatitis.

Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Cats will often refuse mixed diets, so we recommend adding the new food to a separate bowl from the old food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.
| Transition Day | Current Diet | New Diet |
|---|---|---|
| Days 1-2 | 75% | 25% |
| Days 3-4 | 50% | 50% |
| Days 5-6 | 25% | 75% |
| Day 7 | 0% | 100% |
