RenaPlus is used to provide your pets with the potassium they need when they suffer from hypokalemia (low blood potassium). Low potassium levels are common in pets with kidney (renal) problems and can also occur because of other medical conditions.
RenaPlus is generally very safe when it is used as prescribed. It can cause nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea but these side effects can be minimized when given with food
Pets with high blood potassium levels (hyperkalemia) should not take RenaPlus. If severe kidney disease, acute dehydration, untreated Addison's disease (hypoadrenocorticism), or hemolysis (breakdown of red blood cells) is present, this supplement should not be given. Use should also be avoided in animals with constipation.
